What is
'the birth capture kit'?

The Birth Capture Kit is a rental package designed for mums and birth partners who want to capture their baby’s very first moments in a simple, stress-free way.
Whether you’re planning a home birth, birth centre, or hospital birth, the kit gives you the tools and guidance to record those once-in-a-lifetime memories – without needing any photography experience.

What's included?
Each Birth Capture Kit comes with everything you need to feel confident documenting your baby’s arrival. Inside, you’ll find a professional camera and lens that’s lightweight, easy to use, and already set up for you. To keep things simple, there are step-by-step prompt cards with quick, clear instructions, as well as QR codes linking to mini video guides so you can see exactly how it’s done in the moment.
You’ll also receive gentle tips on capturing the little details that matter most:
tiny hands, curled toes, those very first cuddles

How it works
The Birth Capture Kit is designed to be simple and stress-free, but there are a few important steps to make sure you get the very best from it.
1. Delivery before your due date
Your kit will arrive around two weeks before your due date (or earlier if you have a planned induction or c-section date). This gives you plenty of time to get familiar with everything.
2. Watch the how-to videos
To get the most from your investment, it’s essential to watch the short video guides provided. They’ll walk you through exactly how to use the camera and prompts, so nothing feels overwhelming in the moment.
3. Involve your birth partner
Make sure your birth partner (or whoever may be using the camera) also knows how the kit works. That way, they can confidently step in and capture your memories while you focus on your birth.
4. Capture your story
Follow the prompt cards and tips during or after birth, and use the camera for up to 48 hours afterwards. This gives you the chance to record those first cuddles, tiny details, and quiet moments at home or in hospital.
5. Return and edit
Once you’ve finished, simply send the kit back using the prepaid packaging. I’ll carefully edit all the images on the camera and deliver a finished gallery to you within one week of your birth.
6. Extra bonus!
When you hire the Birth Capture Kit, you’ll also receive 25% off a maternity and newborn shoot, so you can continue your story with professional photography.
FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
Birth rarely goes exactly as expected, which is why the kit has prompt cards for different scenarios. You’ll also keep the kit for 24–48 hours after birth, so if your birth experience changes, you can still capture those first moments with your baby.
If your baby needs extra care (for example, a NICU stay), the kit stays with you so you can record every precious moment together.
The kit is designed to make it as simple as possible to capture clear, beautiful images. You’ll have:
-
Step-by-step cards with prompts
-
QR codes to short how-to videos
-
WhatsApp support from me if you need help in the moment
Plus, you’ll have the camera for up to 48 hours afterwards, so even if the birth feels overwhelming or the lighting isn’t perfect, you can take photos later when you’re more relaxed.
All images come back to me for professional editing, so as long as you’ve captured something, I can usually turn it into a memory you’ll treasure.
And if you decide during labour that you’d prefer me to capture the birth personally, there’s an upgrade option (subject to hospital rules) at a reduced price.

Yes, there is a hire fee to cover the use of the camera and kit while it’s in your care, even if circumstances mean you don’t use it during birth.
However, because you keep the kit for 48 hours afterwards, you’ll still be able to capture your baby’s earliest moments at home or in hospital, even if the birth itself doesn’t go to plan.
Every kit is fully tested before it leaves me. In the unlikely event of a technical problem, you’ll have a WhatsApp support number to reach me straight away.
Absolutely. The kit is designed to be easy for anyone to use — whether that’s your partner, doula, or even a supportive midwife.
