OUTDOOR ENGAGEMENT SHOOT
The story behind the shoot
Ellie & Ryan got in touch in October 2024 to enquire about photography & video highlights for their wedding at Eastington Park in October 2025.
We discussed packages and price options and Ellie expressed that she would love some engagement photos to celebrate this stage of their relationship and also get to know me better before their wedding.
An engagement shoot at your wedding venue is a really great way to ‘practice’ before the big day and it gives us time to get to know the surroundings, which images you like best & will want to recreate on your big day.

A peek behind the scenes
It’s useful, if you have booked well enough in advance, to have an engagement shoot within the same season/time of year as your weddings is going to take place.
This means that you can get a better idea of the lighting on your wedding day, the trees and plants that will be around and also which areas of the venue look their best at that time of year.
We met up mid-afternoon (as this will probably be when we get around to the couple photos on the big day) and had a relaxed walk around Eastington Park’s wonderful grounds.
We discussed the parts that they love the most and we incorporated those areas in to the images.
As I know Eastington Park rather well (I was wedding planner there for 2 years in my previous career!), I had a few suggestions in mind, but it was also nice to try new backdrops and get a feel for what Ellie & Ryan favour.
As the pair got engaged at Disneyland (and Ellie is a huge Disney fan!) she brought along some Minnie ears to incorporate into the shoot and put their unique touch into the gallery.
After the images were taken, we talked through the logistics and the gallery was edited to send over to them.
Ellie & Ryan couldn’t decide which images they loved the most... so they chose them all!
