What to Expect From a Studio Shoot (And Why They’re Easier Than You Think)

Did you know I also offer studio shoots?

I know I talk a lot about in-home sessions (and I’ll always love them), but studio photography has its own kind of magic - beautiful light, no tidying up required, and a chance to get gorgeous photos without worrying about the weather!

So if you're not sure what a studio shoot with me looks like, this one’s for you.

What is a studio shoot like?

Think relaxed vibes, natural smiles, and no awkward posing.

My studio space is super cosy and welcoming—perfect for babies, little ones, and camera-shy grown-ups too. Whether it’s a newborn snuggled in your arms, a crawling baby exploring the floor, or a family squeeze on the studio bed, everything is styled simply so the focus stays on you and your connection.

The lighting is soft and flattering (no harsh flashes here), and sessions usually last around an hour (but I leave longer for newborns). Just enough time to capture a lovely set of images without anyone getting tired or overwhelmed.

Studio shoots are a brilliant option if:

- You want those clean, timeless images with a neutral background.

- You’re not quite ready to invite a photographer into your home.

- You’re short on time and want a fuss-free session.

- Or you just love the look of simple, styled studio photos.

Where is your studio?

I’m based in Churchdown, just outside Gloucester (GL3). Easy parking right outside! It's within easy access of Gloucester, Cheltenham, and surrounding areas due to its proximity to the motorway.

What should we wear?

Neutrals always work beautifully. Creams, soft greys, dusty pinks, sage green.
